Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Medical Assistant II to support clinical and clerical tasks under licensed supervision. You will take vital signs, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and assist the healthcare team with patient care in a busy clinic setting.

Role requires a High School Diploma and a current BLS certification. A Massachusetts MA credential is also required or approved by the state health department. Signing bonus may be available; final offer based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available upon hire, a BLS must be obtained within 3 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms, takes and records vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight).
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assists in performing routine physical exams or clinical procedures.
• Reviews lab results and flags abnormal results to physicians.
