Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care in Michigan. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking histories and vital signs, assisting with exams, testing, and specimen collection, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an MA program and externship/internship is preferred.
• EMT or Paramedic training may be considered in lieu of MA training.
• Credentialed MA certifications ( CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC ) are valued.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
