Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering excellent patient care. The MA will welcome patients, document histories and vital signs, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and help coordinate care to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities include communicating results to patients, educating families, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship.
• MA Internship is required or preferred.
• EMT program or Paramedic program or Certified Athletic Trainer credentials are acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
