Job summary

CVHS Health Services in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a high-volume clinic. You will perform clinical support tasks, maintain supplies, and assist the clinician per Nursing Procedure Manual.

This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health program, national certification if applicable, CPR certification, and at least one year in a health facility

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
• Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
• Proof of re-certification, if applicable
• One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred
• Current CPR certification, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
• Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies
• Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual
• May be assigned lab duties
• Assists in quality assurance and control
• Participates in the continuing educational process
• Assists in the efficient flow of patients
• Attends work as scheduled
• Performs related duties as assigned
