Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy outpatient clinic. You will room patients, assist with visits, manage messages and paperwork, and help with front-office tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

Requires BLS, a high school diploma or equivalent, and MA program knowledge. New hires after Oct 5, 2025 may need program graduation; familiarity with ICD-10/CPT is a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program may be required for new hires after Oct 5, 2025.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
• Ability to master standard clinical competencies per policy.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and support providers during clinic visits.
• Manage patient messages, paperwork, and prior authorizations.
• Assist with both clinical and administrative duties.
• Rooming patients and completing intake.
• Assisting providers with patient care.
• Scanning and maintaining medical records.
• Preparing exam rooms and supporting clinic workflow.
