Job summary

OLE Health in Napa is seeking a Medical Assistant I for the North Napa Campus. The role supports medical visits, handles patient intake, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to a largely low-income, non-English speaking population.

The candidate will room patients, document vital signs, educate patients, and assist with documentation and various routine procedures. CPR certification and English/Spanish/Dari/Punjabi/Vietnamese bilingual abilities are highly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CA Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification strongly preferred.
• Entry level position up to one year of experience.
• Must certify and remain current in CPR.
• Bilingual in multiple languages strongly preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients for program eligibility for health coverage programs.
• Assist patients with applications and collect necessary documentation.
• Educate patients and community about health coverage programs.
• Data entry of patient information into the EHR system.
• Support community events and health fairs.
• Greet patients and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Room patients and document vital signs.
• Collect patient history and current health status.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
• Perform panel management and non-visit tasks as assigned.
• Work with providers to deliver high-quality care.
• Ensure timely shift huddles and coordination.
• Follow protocols for routine screening and procedures.
• Administer immunizations per provider orders.
• Maintain logs, forms, and charts accurately.
• Document temperature logs for storage.
• Run daily QA tests for in-house testing.
• Promote safety and proper handling of waste and sharps.
• Communicate effectively with providers and staff.
