Job summary

CommuniCare+OLE is seeking a Medical Assistant I (temporary) at the North Napa Campus in Napa, CA. This role supports medical visits with patient intake, rooming, and documentation as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The position is non-exempt, hourly, with a schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and up to 3 Saturdays per year. Benefits are not provided to temporary staff. Prior MA education and EMT/Phlebotomy credentials are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited CA medical assistant program; CA MA certification strongly preferred.
• EMT certification or equivalent allowed in lieu of MA certification.
• Phlebotomy certificate strongly preferred.
• Entry level position up to 1 year of experience.
• Must certify and remain current in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients for program eligibility for health coverage programs.
• Assist patients with applications and documentation for programs.
• Educate patients and families about coverage programs.
• Enter patient data into the electronic health record system.
• Support community events and health fairs.
• Greet patients and ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Room patients and document vital signs and histories.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Provide patient education and follow‑up as directed by providers.
• Assist with chart prep and QA measures.
