Job summary

Native American Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant I for our SF/Oakland sites. The MA I supports clinicians, manages patient flow, and executes standing orders with emphasis on accurate vitals, intake, and immunization data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; able to use EHR.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Vaccination and health requirements including TB/flu, titers if needed.
• BLS/CPR certification current.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily huddles with Care Team to review the day’s schedule.
• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies; maintain cleanliness.
• Admit members, interview, take vitals, and assist procedures.
• Perform standing orders and assist with injections as needed.
• Conduct lab tests (blood, EKG, urine) and enter immunization data.
• Open/close lab and assist with staff training.
• Provide health education to members as directed.
• Support panel management and coverage as assigned.
