Job summary

Northbay Health is hiring a Medical Assistant I / Patient Services Representative to provide front- and back-office support across ambulatory practices in Napa, CA. You will handle reception, scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records, while also assisting with direct patient care under physician supervision.

The role demands strong customer service, multitasking, and knowledge of various insurance types, with opportunities to work within a collaborative ambulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer engagement experience and/or a service-centered role required.
• Previous experience with medication administration required.
• Experience with medical record processes, appointment scheduling, referral/authorization processes, registration processes, and back-office clinical support; ambulatory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within expected timeframes.
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, Managed Care, Indemnity, and Workers' Compensation insurance types.

Responsibilities

• Provide front- and back-office support including reception, registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification and medical records management.
• Perform front office duties of moderate scope and complexity.
• Assist in providing direct patient care under supervision of a licensed physician in ambulatory care settings.
• Support Ambulatory Division medical practices and reassign staff/patients as needed.
