Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Cartersville location in Georgia. The role involves patient rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, vaccinations, lab duties, and supporting providers according to MA scope of practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• 2 years MA experience within last 5 years (if no formal program).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists or performs provider-ordered procedures.
• Lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights.
• Handles refills, authorizations, messaging, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained for clinic duties within MA scope.
• Maintains clean environment and equipment readiness.
• Delivers age-appropriate care and communicates effectively.
