Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military clinical training.
• Experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
• Knowledge of patient safety and privacy regulations (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and clinic policies.
• Performs patient rooming, vital signs, meds reconciliation, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures and supports lab duties including venipuncture and specimens.
• Performs POCT and CLIA-waived tests per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles appointments, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
