Akron Children's is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support for patients under the supervision of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse. The role involves preparing patients, taking vital signs, assisting with exams, drawing blood, and documenting care in EPIC.

You will manage data collection for assessments, assist with scheduling and billing tasks, and help maintain a safe, organized clinical space.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program, EMT Program, or Paramedic Program is required.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
No prior experience required.

Responsabilités

Prepares patients for examination; takes and records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed by Providers according to policy and procedure.
Collects data for assessments and discharge plans under Licensed Nurse direction.
Collects, processes, and submits laboratory specimens per policy.
Documents patient findings in the EPIC system.
Performs scheduling, visit preparation, and co-payment collection as needed.
Performs department-specific clinical duties and routine office tasks.
Maintains examination rooms and supplies; supports patient relations.
