Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse. The role includes patient preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, and EPIC documentation.

Responsibilities include data collection for assessments, specimen processing, patient communication, and assisting with routine office duties. Requires High School diploma and completion of a Medical Assistant program with BLS

Qualifications

• Experience in phlebotomy is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Experience working in healthcare environment is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination; records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as directed.
• Collects data for assessment and discharge planning under supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
• Collects, processes, and submits laboratory specimens per policy.
• Communicates findings to Providers or Licensed Nurse.
• Documents care accurately in the EPIC system.
