Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for day shift in the Surgery Outpatient setting. Under supervision, you will assist with patient prep, charting, and front-office tasks to ensure smooth visits.

You will perform rooming, minor procedures support, EMR documentation, and confirm schedules and tests. A high school diploma and MA training or certificate, BLS certification required; OSHA knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care under supervision, ensuring smooth patient flow.
• Documentation and charting for procedures and visits in EMR.
• Assist with in-office procedures and treatments.
• Front desk tasks including scheduling and registration.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare procedure rooms for provider visits.
• Set up and assist with in-office procedures and treatments.
• Break down, clean, and restock procedure rooms after visits.
• Prepare charts and documentation for virtual appointments.
• Review patient records, test results, and provider schedules to ensure visit readiness.
• Monitor and support clinic compliance with standards (Joint Commission).
• Pull, review, and track departmental quality metrics and performance measures.
