Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in its Rome General Administration site. The role requires covering vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, rooming patients, and assisting clinicians with procedures.

The candidate will perform lab duties under CLIA waivers, administer vaccines, and handle scheduling, referrals, and communications. Strong computer skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years verifiable MA experience in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, meds reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, POCT, CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of meds.
• Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained for duties across clinic specialties.
• Maintains clean environment and equipment.
