Job summary

Advocate Health's Concord Internal Medicine department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support patient care in a primary clinic setting. The role involves rooming, vital signs, and history taking, with responsibilities including vaccinations and specimen collection.

The MA will assist providers, perform CLIA‑waived tests, manage lab duties, and handle scheduling, referrals, and patient communications, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military clinical training.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full‑time MA experience within the last 5 years.
• Current certification requirements vary by division; BLS/CPR may be required; obtain within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, document medical history, and perform health screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and perform lab-related duties (venipuncture, specimen handling, requisitions, results tracking).
• Conduct POCT per standing order and complete CLIA waived tests per standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines per rights of administration; handle refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
