Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Internal Medicine clinic at Highland Oaks. You will greet patients, obtain vital signs, document chief complaints, and prepare rooms for examinations under physician or APP supervision.

Responsibilities include performing labs, assisting with procedures, administering routine medications per standing orders, and coordinating referrals. Must hold BLS and an accredited MA program; 1 year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills including EMR familiarity.
• Ability to perform routine and complex clinical tasks within MA scope.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam, records vital signs and health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique.
• Assists with procedures such as pelvic exams and other tests.
• Administers routine medications per orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinates tests, referrals, and communicates with the care team.
• Maintains patient flow and provides accurate information to patients.
