Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support front office and back office clinical operations across clinics in Fresno, CA. The role involves assisting with staffing shortages and promoting operational efficiency under the Director of Operations.

Ideal candidates will have a Medical Assistant program completion, a valid BLS card, and at least two years of outpatient clinic experience, with knowledge of billing codes and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card required, issued through the American Heart Association.
• California Driver’s license and valid auto insurance required.
• Associates degree in business related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of medical office experience in an outpatient clinic setting, preferably in Federally Qualified Health Center.
• Knowledge of billing codes and HIPAA/Medical Record regulations.

Responsibilities

• Floating between front office and back office medical assistant roles to fill staffing shortages.
• Promote Clinica Sierra Vista Production System (CSVPS) and ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitor patient schedules to maximize access and minimize errors and delays.
• Oversee patient check-in/out processes, including collections and deposits.
• Ensure compliance with quality guidelines and requirements (TJC, HRSA, PCMH, HEDIS, UDS, CHDP).
