Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Medical Assistant I/II for the Fresno Mobile Unit to float between front and back office roles, helping staff cover shortages and promote efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card required (American Heart Association).
• California Driver's license and valid auto insurance required.
• Associates degree in business (preferred).
• Minimum two years medical office experience in outpatient clinic setting.
• Knowledge of billing codes, HIPAA and Medical Records regulations.
• Adhere to CSV employee health/immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Floats between front and back office medical assistant duties to cover staff shortages.
• Report to assigned clinic unless directed otherwise; support health center operations.
• Promote Clinica Sierra Vista Production System (CSVPS) and monitor health center objectives.
• Assist with patient check-in/out processes and scheduling to maximize access.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Assistant I/II who:

Under the direction of the Director of Operations or designee, this position will be responsible for floating between front office and/or back office medical assistant clinical operation roles to fill staff shortages as assigned. The Front Office / Back Office Medical Assistant, when designated by the Director of Operations will report to home assigned clinic unless otherwise told and floated to another clinic to assist with staffing shortages. Additionally, this role promotes Clinica Sierra Vista Production System (CSVPS), ensures operational efficiency, follows through with implementation, monitoring and reporting on all health center objectives.

Essential Functions:

Daily Health Center Operations:

• Support in maintaining proficiency in the role of Receptionists and Medical Assistant duties and responsibilities.
• Training includes but is not limited to Clinica Sierra Vista's (CSV) culture and mission, practice management system, customer service expectations, payer sources, programs, and quality initiatives on a regular basis.
• Responsible for following standard work procedures and trouble shoots any problems and resolving any patient issues at the health center.
• Responsible for monitoring the management of patients' schedules to maximize access and minimize errors and delays.
• Monitors all functions of the patient check in/out process, including collections and deposits.
• Ensures health center and team are meeting TJC, HRSA, PCMH, HEDIS, UDS, CHDP, and all quality improvement guidelines and requirements.

You’ll be successful with the following qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program Required.
• Possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card required, issued through the American Heart Association
• Possess and maintain a California Driver's license and valid auto insurance.
• Associates degree in business related field is preferred.
• Minimum two years of medical office experience in health care outpatient clinic setting, preferably in Federally Qualified Health Center.
• Knowledge of billing codes and programs, HIPAA and Medical Record laws and regulations, and excellent customer service expectations.
• Must adhere to CSV's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid approved exemption request.
