Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a dedicated medical office clerk to provide clerical and clinical support, assisting physicians with examinations and patient care under supervision.

You will manage patient flow, prepare charts in EMR, document vitals, review histories, handle scheduling, check-ins/outs, refills, and ensure a clean, confidential, compliant clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate Degree is preferred.
• 1–2 years of prior relevant medical office experience in a clerical role.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) are required.
• Strong verbal and social skills to interact respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, coworkers, and vendors.
• Ability and willingness to travel to other physician offices as requested or needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow during clinic hours.
• Documents review of systems; measures vital signs; updates medical history; reviews medications; updates medication list in visit charts.
• Prepares patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records and test results.
• Refills medications and pre-authorizes medications with patient, pharmacy, or insurer as needed.
• Maintains clean, fully supplied exam rooms and prepares treatment rooms for examinations.
• Responds to MyChart and returns patient calls; handles appointments, check-ins/outs, and pre-certifications.
