The role focuses on patient instruction, charting, and ensuring HIPAA/OSHA/CLIA compliance while handling routine duties essential to daily operations. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with exams, preparing specimens, and supporting the revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Must have one of the following: MA Program with externship, SEP Internship, EMT certification, or a health/biological sciences degree with hands-on clinical care

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs (weight, BP, pulse, temp) and document in chart.
• Document patient history in chart.
• Provide clear direction to patients and address concerns; document in-patient chart.
• Prepare the patient for the exam.
• Assist the provider during the examination.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision.
• Provide patient instructions under provider direction.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic tests.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider.
• Ensure all information is complete in patient chart and forms for revenue cycle.
• Maintain supplies in exam rooms and workstation.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
• Sterilize equipment, report malfunctions.
• Maintain OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA compliance and required logs.
• Assist with patient requests and triage messages.
• Coordinate referrals and outpatient test scheduling.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

MA program completion with hands-on externship

SEP Internship completion

EMT certification

Degree in Health or Biological Sciences with hands-on clinical care
