Job summary

St. Elizabeth Physicians in Newport, KY is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support to physicians and mid-level providers. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, and ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance while contributing to efficient patient care.

The role involves a range of duties from taking vital signs to specimen collection and patient education. Regular hours include no nights or weekends outside urgent care coverage, with standard benefits and growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year MA/CNA/PCA/STNA/SEH Care Tech experience preferred.
• Completion of an MA program and externship is a plus.
• SEP MA Internship is a plus.
• EMT Certification Program desirable.
• Healthcare-related degree with hands-on care experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Document patient history in charts.
• Provide clear exam instructions and address patient concerns.
• Prepare patient for exams and assist providers during examinations.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision.
• Administer medications as directed by providers.
• Collect lab specimens and perform basic tests.
• Ensure accurate patient charting and forms for revenue cycle.
• Maintain supplies and disinfect exam rooms.
• Comply with OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA and log-keeping requirements.
• Triage patient messages and coordinate with front office and providers.

Education

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

1 year MA, CNA, PCA, STNA, or SEH Clinical Care Tech experience

Completion of an MA Program and MA Externship

Completion of SEP MA Internship

Completion of EMT Certification Program

Degree in Health or Biological Sciences inclusive of hands-on clinical patient care activities
