Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings within OSIU network.

You will room patients, take vital signs, prepare for examinations, and assist physicians with procedures according to protocol. Responsibilities include collecting samples, performing routine tests, and maintaining clean treatment rooms, while communicating clearly with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with medical assistant pathway.
• Experience or training in basic patient care is preferred.
• Certifications such as Medical Assistant Certification are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
