Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Wake Forest Eye Institute - Gastroenterology in Winston-Salem. This full-time role involves rooming patients, recording vitals, and assisting clinicians with a variety of procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include performing lab tests, administering routine medications under physician orders, and supporting workflow to ensure exceptional patient care. BLS and MA certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Medical Assistant certifications CMA/AAMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA, NRCMA, NRMA, or NCMSMA are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering documentation.
• Monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique.
• Assist Physician/APP with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy.
• Administer routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinate referrals and schedule tests or appointments as needed.
• Communicate with physicians and team to maintain clinic flow and patient communication.
