Job summary

Advocate Health's Adult Gastroenterology Clinic in Winston-Salem seeks a motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The CMA will prepare patients for exams, collect vital signs, document medical history, and support physicians with procedures and lab work.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/NCMA etc certification as listed is required.
• 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by collecting vital signs and documenting health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures and specimen collection.
• Assist Physician/APP with procedures such as biopsies and other exams.
• Administer routine medications under physician orders or standing orders/protocols.
• Coordinate with health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and effective patient communication.
