Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.
  • Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and specialty clinical workflows.
  • Prepare patients for office visits, procedures, and surgical consultations.
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, imaging, prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow-up appointments.
  • Communicate provider recommendations, test results, surgical instructions, and patient education materials.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with procedure room preparation, inventory management, and equipment readiness.
  • Support preoperative and postoperative patient education and care coordination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support general and vascular surgery clinic operations.

About The Role

As a Medical Assistant in General and Vascular Surgery at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their surgical care journey. Working closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and the care team, you will assist with patient visits, procedure preparation, care coordination, and follow-up care. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced surgical specialty environment.

Schedule
  • Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Hours may vary based on provider and departmental needs.
  • Position based in Quincy, Illinois.
  • No weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, or routine on-call requirements.
  • Fast-paced surgical specialty clinic environment focused on delivering comprehensive general and vascular surgery care.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
