Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients through the surgical care journey in a fast-paced general and vascular surgery clinic in Quincy, Illinois.

You will room patients, assist with exams and procedures, coordinate referrals and tests, and maintain EMR documentation while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required (available upon hire).
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience in a physician office, surgical specialty, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals, med history, and visit details.
• Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and clinic workflows.
• Prepare patients for visits, procedures, and surgical consultations.
• Coordinate referrals, tests, imaging, and follow-up appointments.
• Communicate test results, instructions, and patient education.
• Respond to calls, messages, and clinical inquiries promptly.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Support preoperative and postoperative education and care coordination.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.
