Job summary

Scripps Coastal OBGYN in Encinitas, CA seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient care, rooming, vitals, and pre-procedure activities. Travel to other Scripps Coastal OBGYN clinics may be required to cover schedules.

Responsibilities include documenting visits in EPIC, coordinating tests and referrals, and ensuring a clean, safe clinical environment during a typical Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or evenings.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Job description

This is a benefited, full-time position that generally works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or evening shifts. The position is located at Scripps Encinitas on Santa Fe Drive. Travel to other Scripps Coastal OBGYN clinic locations, including Oceanside and both Jefferson and Mission, is required as needed.
