Under the general supervision of the Practice Director, the Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Advanced Practice Professionals, and the practice team with direct and support-related patient care, ensuring patients are treated respectfully, confidentially, and in a friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to complete documented workflows accurately.
- Document and update patient medical histories within EMR guidelines, including vital signs, medical, social, surgical, and family histories.
- Complete daily work lists, including order tracking, tasking, and document import, providing timely patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory item collection.
Additional Duties:
- Perform pre-visit planning, including obtaining records from other healthcare providers.
- Prepare examination rooms with supplies and maintain cleanliness.
- Greet patients professionally, escort them to exam rooms, and explain procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations.
- Assist with specimen collection and processing, sterilize equipment, and order supplies.
- Manage medication orders, immunizations, and vaccine handling according to standards.
- Coordinate referrals, pre-certifications, and pre-approvals.
- Handle patient calls, schedule appointments, and process orders for tests and referrals.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program preferred.
