Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting health information.
2. Performing laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques.
3. Assisting physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, and others.
4. Administering routine medications under appropriate orders or protocols.
5. Managing test requests, referrals, and scheduling, and relaying information to and from patients and team members.
6. Communicating effectively with the healthcare team and patients to ensure smooth clinic operations.
7. Performing clinical support tasks such as suture removal, phlebotomy, EKG, and others under supervision.
8. Providing age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.

Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days if required.

Education:

• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Experience:

• No experience required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within scope after competency demonstration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in computer use, including electronic medical records.
• Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 35 pounds, and perform various physical tasks throughout the day.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch.
• Exposure to hazards and requirement to wear protective equipment as needed.
