The Medical Assistant will support the practice in clerical, clinical, and business functions under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Certification as CMA/RMA/CCMA or credentialed through a formal training program (within 6 months of hire)
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire

Major Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assisting providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization, ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
• Respond promptly to patient portal messages.
• Complete pre-visit work, administer vaccines, and handle prescription refills using standing protocols.
• Schedule tests and follow-up calls post-surgery.
• Perform administrative duties: greeting patients, scheduling, answering phones, managing records, collecting payments, and balancing daily transactions.
• Adhere to policies and regulations, including patient confidentiality and safety standards.
• Assist with scribing, documentation, lab orders, referrals, and prescriptions as needed.
• Monitor care team metrics to evaluate outcomes.
• Provide coverage for other offices as needed.
