Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant at Marshall Medical Clinics collaborates with providers and staff to deliver effective, timely, and compassionate medical care. This role ensures continuity of patient care to maximize patient satisfaction. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers, completing medication refills, follow-ups on lab results, making referrals, handling patient callbacks, ordering supplies, and sterilizing equipment and exam rooms. Medical Assistants may be required to float to other clinics and perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic goals.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or relevant experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• For Medical Assistant 2: Certification from the California Certified Medical Assistant Board (CCMA), the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or an approved body is required.

Knowledge:

• Experience with injections, EKGs, medication administration, and vital signs required.
• Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient/family health education required.

Skills:

• Accurate and clear clinical documentation in EMR.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt priorities.
• A friendly, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining authorizations, and verifying credentials with external partners (e.g., ID.me for VA insurance).
