Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required.
• BLS certification required on hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Completion of education programs and competency testing on hire.
• Medical terminology training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document visit reason, vital signs and BMI.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Collect specimens and handle lab transport per protocols.
• Ensure patient care areas are stocked with supplies.
• Prepare patients for procedures and maintain sterile setup.
• Arrange for scheduled diagnostic/therapeutic services.
• Maintain patient records of medical treatment.
• Administer vaccines and medications under supervision.
• Process prescription requests and refills as ordered.
• Provide patient education materials as directed.
