Qualifications

  • EMT/Paramedic certification accepted; CPOE required within 2 weeks if MA cert not obtained.
  • BLS required at hire; ongoing refreshers as needed.
  • Clinical backgrounds (LPN/EMT/Parmedic/PCT) encouraged to apply.

Job description

  • Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
  • Schedule appointments and process co-pays
  • Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
  • Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments

  • Assist providers with patient care and procedures

  • Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
  • Perform opening and closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
  • Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting
  • Alternatively, one of the listed MA certifications at the time of hire or obtained within 12 months of hire: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA
  • Alternatively, graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN or LVN at the time of hire, verified through state license
  • Alternatively, EMT or Paramedic certification verified through state certification and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
  • CPOE certification required within 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One of the listed MA certifications required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA
  • Clinical backgrounds such as LPNs, EMTs, Paramedics, and PCTs with healthcare backgrounds are encouraged to apply
