Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of medical assistant experience
• Or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN or armed services medic program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire for Rural Health Designated clinics
• Prefer CMA or RMA certification when applicable
• Electronic medical record experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care and assist in examinations and tests.
• Greet patients, answer phones, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Register patients, schedule appointments, and collect insurance co-pays/deductibles.
• Verify insurance and document financial transactions for each shift.
