Job summary

McLaren Health in Michigan’s Grand Blanc area seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams with patient care, routine procedures and vital signs. You will contribute to a smooth clinical workflow and patient experience.

You will greet patients, manage registrations, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and handle payments. The role may involve EMR data entry and ongoing training to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with six months experience as a medical assistant.
• OR completion of a recognized medical support program such as medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN or medic program.
• For Rural Health Designation clinics, BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and perform a variety of medical procedures and tests, including vital signs and venipuncture.
• Greet patients, answer the phone and direct callers to appropriate personnel.
• Handle patient registration, scheduling of appointments, insurance verification and collection of co-pays/deductibles.
• Record financial activity and accounts for all transactions during each shift.
