Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers seeks a Medical Assistant to perform front and back office duties under supervision at Luckey Ranch. The role includes patient check-in, assist with injections and basic procedures, and coordination of referrals and communications.

You will obtain histories, vital signs, and ensure accurate documentation for audits. The position requires HS diploma, MA certification or equivalent, BLS, and ability to travel between clinic sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year experience as Medical Assistant or MA certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Experience in primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable with personal computers.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day front and back office operations, ensuring tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive direct patient care procedures (EKGs, screenings).
• Obtains patient history, vitals, and documents quality metrics for audits and compliance.
• Maintains inventory and ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, and cleaned.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, verifies insurance, and posts encounter data.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and secures cash deposits.
• Prepares for next-day clinics and pre-registers patients for programs.
• Provides exceptional customer service and assists other departments as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
