Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office duties under general supervision in our Texas clinics. You will handle patient check-ins, basic care tasks, and coordination of referrals with a focus on accurate documentation and friendly service.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, administering injections and screenings, managing inventories, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of Medical Assistant experience or MA diploma/certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• BLS certification required.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist front and back office daily operations, coordinating referrals and patient communication.
• Administer injections and assist with EKGs, screenings, and exams within MA scope.
• Record patient history, vital signs, ensure quality metrics and audits.
• Maintain inventory and ensure equipment calibration, charging, cleaning.
• Register patients, verify insurance, post encounters and manage end-of-day cash reconciliation.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support other departments.
