Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support physicians across multiple sites, including performing EKGs, phlebotomy and injections, while managing patient flow and maintaining supplies. The role requires HIPAA compliance and strong communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, documenting vitals and medical history, and ensuring high-quality care as you rotate through 5+ locations in the assigned area.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some PA locations.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification.
• Perform and document vital signs, medical history and care quality measures.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures; may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Maintain and order clinical supplies to support smooth operations.
• Work as a Float resource across 5+ locations within the assigned area.
