Job summary

Health Partners of Western Ohio is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our community health team and support providers with hands-on clinical tasks, patient education, and coordination of care. You will travel to our Northern Community Health Centers across Toledo, Tiffin, Bryan and Defiance to ensure high-quality service.

The ideal candidate holds a HS diploma or GED, has at least 1 year of related experience, CPR/BLS, and the ability to work flexible hours; we offer benefits and

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of directly related experience preferred.
• CPR – BLS (basic life support).
• Ability to travel to different locations as needed.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
• Performs routine specialized procedures, such as HIV screenings, fluoride varnish application and sterile dressing changes under established protocols.
• Completes patient health screenings including hearing, vision, and all CLIA waived testing.
• Administers injections after appropriate training.
• Administers immunizations and medications that are not controlled substances.
• Maintains stock of medical supplies as necessary.
• Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
• Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
