Job summary

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles seeks an experienced Medical Assistant (Float) to support the Pomona Health Center with both front and back office duties. The role involves testing, screening, patient education, and assisting clinicians in reproductive health care in a full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a clinical setting, BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days, venipuncture and injection training within a year, and a strong commitment to compassionate patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1–2 years experience in a clinical setting.
• Availability to work flexible hours including Saturdays.
• Venipuncture and Injection training (to be completed within 1 year of employment).
• Reproductive health care experience desirable.
• Knowledge of surgical services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in front office and by phone.
• Register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments.
• Obtain medical history and vital signs; assist with testing and screening.
• Assist nurses and clinicians in back-office procedures.
• Provide non-judgmental counseling and patient education on options.
