Qualifications

Overview

Vista Community Clinic is a private, non-profit, multi-specialty outpatient clinic providing care in a comprehensive, high-quality setting. Located in San Diego, Orange, and Riverside counties, we work to advance community health and hope by providing access to premier health services. Responsibilities
  • Support physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or nurses by taking vitals, assisting in medical examinations and other procedures, and providing translation services.
  • As a Float, cover varying shifts and locations within clinics and/or the VCC mobile medical van, including evening and Saturday schedules.
  • Print and review the daily schedule in preparation for the day.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist clinicians with examinations and procedures.
  • Take vital signs, height, and weight of patients; plot growth charts; record immunizations.
  • Perform simple laboratory and screening tests such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry, and EKGs.
  • Set up instrument trays for special procedures.
  • Provide counseling, care, follow-up instructions, health education, and materials to patients as instructed by the provider.
Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from an approved school or hospital.
  • At least five years of back-office experience or three years in a specialty practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Knowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, regulations, and managed care systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to patient satisfaction.
  • Emergency response capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, email, and internet research.

Pay Range

  • $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
