Job summary

American Family Care Rockville is seeking a General Medical Assistant to support outpatient care within a franchise location. You will work under a licensed provider, performing clinical tasks, patient prep, and documentation in a fast-paced setting.

The role involves vitals collection, history taking, specimen handling, immunization administration, and coordination of tests and referrals to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent in medical assisting preferred.
• AMT registration preferred.
• AAMA CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved procedures.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for processing.
• Perform laboratory tests and quality controls per instructions.
• Respond to lab messages and callback requests.
• Ensure immunizations are documented and administered per procedure.
• Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
