Job summary

American Family Care seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver general medical care in an outpatient clinic setting under supervision of a licensed provider. The role involves vitals collection, patient prep, immunizations, labs, and documentation across franchise locations.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent, 6 months to 1 year of related experience, and AMT/AAMA credentials preferred. AFC offers a supportive small-business environment with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• AMT registration and AAMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit and prepare for physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per procedure.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference or in-house processing.
• Perform lab tests, quality controls, and equipment maintenance.
• Respond to lab messages and callback requests.
• Carry out drug screening procedures per rules.
• Document immunizations per procedures.
• Coordinate physician referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
