Overview

The Driver transports visitors and/or documents, ensuring every visitor, customer, and colleague receives quality, welcoming, and respectful customer service. The Medical Support Specialist (MSS) performs routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the clinician and supports other facility areas including registration and referral management. This role requires efficient, accurate patient care delivery and thriving in a fast-paced environment. The MSS ensures each patient receives quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience through welcoming, respectful, and skilled colleagues.

Responsibilities

1. Drive motor vehicle to transport office personnel, visitors, or documents.
2. Use good judgment and safe driving skills while being courteous to customers.
3. Communicate with the COD and/or ACOD to report problems or delays.
4. Perform errands such as carrying mail to or from the post office.
5. Maintain vehicle appearance and notify the COD and/or ACOD if servicing is needed.
6. Record all transports with mileage.
7. Complete daily and monthly vehicle checklists.
8. Perform light vehicle maintenance.
9. Maintain professional communication and interpersonal skills with staff and patients.
10. Respect patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality.
11. Assist with clinic operations, including results reporting, drug screening, and rooming patients.
12. Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
13. Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiograms, respirator fit testing).
14. Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
15. Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
16. Perform routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients as needed.
17. Prepare and assist with procedures and injury care.
18. Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
19. Dispense medications and DME as ordered, following regulations.
20. Conduct quality assurance on equipment and testing processes.
21. Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and equipment.
22. Operate and calibrate medical devices, recording maintenance activities.
23. Notify supervisor of equipment issues or supply needs.
24. Assist with patient flow and volume management.
25. Keep patients informed of wait times.
26. Perform clerical tasks, including documentation and front office duties.
27. Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and safety rules.
28. Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
29. Maintain a clean and organized facility.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Meet licensing requirements of the state of employment.
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school or current Medical Assistant credentials, in accordance with state regulations.
