Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Medical Assistant to join our PHD Dermatology office in Dunedin. The role involves providing high-quality patient care and supporting our Dermatologists. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow in dermatology.

Responsibilities

1. Patient Care:
   • Assist Dermatologists during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
   • Record patient medical history and vital signs.
   • Educate patients on medications, skincare, and post-treatment care.
2. Administrative Tasks:
   • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar.
   • Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems.
   • Handle insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and billing support.
3. Procedure Assistance:
   • Prepare for dermatological procedures and assist during surgeries.
   • Ensure sterilization and maintenance of instruments.
   • Document procedural notes and follow-up care.
4. Patient Communication:
   • Relay treatment plans, appointments, and test results.
   • Respond professionally and empathetically to inquiries.
5. Collaboration:
   • Work with medical staff for seamless patient care.
   • Coordinate with dermatologists and nurses for treatment plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; MA certification preferred.
• Experience in dermatology preferred but willing to train.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and patient charting.
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical office.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance; dermatology terminology is a plus.

Physical Requirements
