Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience.

Day shift, full-time position in Michigan. Completion of MA program/externship/internship, EMT, paramedic, or athletic trainer programs is preferred; MA credentials optional with CEUs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of listed MA training tracks (externship/internship/EMT/paramedic/athletic trainer) is preferred.
• If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
• MA non-credentialed path includes MA eligibility or EMT/paramedic licensing in Michigan.
• Minimum experience: 0–1 year clinical experience or 2+ years in community clinic if MA program not completed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
