Qualifications

• AHA BLS for healthcare workers certification required; higher life support may be needed per unit.
• High school diploma or equivalent; MA program preferred.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIA/ADA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• TB validation or within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Programs and Meaningful Use within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of standard clinical procedures.
• Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers.
• Ability to master standard clinical competencies per policy; data collection/entry skills required.
• Requires basic math and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision and ensure orders/referrals are completed accurately.
• Maintain smooth patient flow and perform general lab work as needed.
• Handle registration and scheduling per organizational procedures.
• Maintain EMR files and perform front office tasks as needed.
• May perform computerized physician order entry as directed by physicians.
• Precept MA team members or externs as requested by leadership.
