Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinic operations under the Office of Student Life. You will assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and therapists, perform clinical and administrative tasks, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient health care environment on campus.

The 10-month position requires a high school diploma, CMA certification, and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with competitive IU benefits and in-person work at IU Health Center.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant upon date of hire.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Maintains professionalism and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Takes and records patient vital signs and reports abnormal conditions to the clinician.
  • Responds to patient symptoms with first aid or clinician consultation.
  • Prepares patients for minor procedures and assists during procedures.
  • Prepares medical equipment and supplies for exams.
  • Administers routine treatments as ordered by clinicians.
  • Performs outpatient clinic tasks and supports care teams.
  • Creates and maintains administrative records and schedules.
  • Schedules and confirms appointments and travel arrangements.
