Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Medical Assistant certification is required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE.
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates with one year of MA experience who do not possess certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer telephone calls and screen for referrals.
